Automation Technician
· Programming, maintaining and retaining computer programs for all robots, press transfers, press feed controls, weld controls as applicable
· Assisting maintenance/manufacturing in supervising and implementing maintenance program and records as directed
· Update and maintain electrical schematics
· Assist Engineering in the introduction of new technologies to the plant floor
· Assist in the training of other employees in the use of new or upgraded equipment
· Preventive maintenance on weld cells
· Preventive maintenance on weld fixtures
· Graduate of a Community College in Robotic/Engineering Technology, or five years related experience in manufacturing with training in PLC & SLC programming
· Must have a good understanding of Allen-Bradley, SLC 100, 150, 500 and PLC 2 and 5-S and weld controls, Robitron or Medar

Our client, an OEM is currently seeking a Service Technician / Service Engineer
Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for:
All facets of technical customer service and support - customer-site servicing and repair
Ability to implement solutions that add value to our customers and the Company
Implement customer service strategies
This role could REQUIRE TRAVEL UP TO 50%
The incumbent will be responsible for the following functions:
· Handling customer inquiries and questions (FAQ's), field service/equipment monitoring, and performing customer-site preventive maintenance, repair and machine installations
· Assist in all related activities in customer technical support and take ownership and responsibility for solving customer issues.
· Provides feedback to other departments as required
· Ensures that solutions are captured as a technical artifact in company systems
TROUBLESHOOTING AND SERVICE DUTIES:
· Test / Diagnose and observe electrical, electronic and mechanical components and systems using testing and measuring instruments
· Diagnose / Troubleshoot and repair electric, electro-mechanical and mechanical equipment
· Replace or recondition components
· Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components
· Test repaired apparatus to ensure proper performance
· Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other mechanical related devices
· Carry out preventative maintenance programs to ensure proper machine performance keeping required maintenance records
· Disassemble defective units and repair or replace worn or suspect parts
· Performs internal and external training with customers on new machine installations
MACHINE INSTALLATION DUTIES:
· Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics to determine layout of industrial electrical and mechanical equipment / machine installations
· Install, examine, replace or repair electrical and mechanical components
· Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
· Install automated machines according to specifications
· Test operation of newly installed equipment / machines
· Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical systems failures
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
· A minimum of 5 years experience in automation / robotics and strong mechanical / electrical aptitude - Injection moulding, extrusion and industrial automated systems experience is a strong asset
· Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills - customer service focused
· Knowledge of robotics operations including software interfacing in an industrial environment
· Ability to use software diagnostic tools
· PC literate; emphasis on Microsoft Suite products.
· Strong Technical and Mechanical aptitude
